UK Prime Minister proud of his iMac setup

The following is a Chinese translation of a recent iClarified article. From now on, in addition to translating Chinese articles into English, we’ll also focus on translating English language articles into Chinese too. Which should provide a more varied insight into which Chinese to use depending on the content and cultural context.

In an interview with the Telegraph, UK Prime Minister David Cameron says he is proud of his iMac setup.

在接受每日電訊報的採訪時,英國首相大衛卡梅倫說他對自己的iMac裝備很自豪。

“I’m very proud of the fact that I’ve got an iMac and I’ve got a speaker remotely linked without a wire which I did myself. I have all the music on the iMac. The cool thing is that I now control my iMac from the iPad, to play out through the speaker but I have to admit I had a little bit of help from someone in IT on that.”

「對於能自己把無線的喇叭連到我iMac我是很自豪的。所有音樂都是存在iMac。很棒的是,我現在能用iPad來控制iMac讓音樂在無線喇叭播放,但這個我請了IT專家來幫忙。」

“I bought the iMac for Samantha because it’s very important not to use my HoC computer for music. The best thing to do is to put all your music on to the iMac, and then you can sync iPods and iPads with it.”

「我是買iMac給Samantha,因為不能用HoC(下議院)電腦聽音樂。最好方法是把所有的音樂都放在iMac,然後與iPod跟iPad同步。」

The Prime Minister is likely using AirTunes to send music wirelessly to his speakers. Apple recently introduced AirPlay as a new way to wirelessly stream both audio and video to other devices.

首相有可能是用AirTunes在無線的喇叭聽音樂。蘋果最近推出AirPlay為了讓音樂及影片能無線地傳送到其他電器。

  1. An additional note on the word 首相 is that it does not always the word to use in Chinese for prime minister. In some cases 總理 (总理), which also translates as premier, is used instead.
If some of these are incorrect people tell me.
    加拿大總理
    德國總理
    澳大利亚總理

    英國首相
    荷蘭首相
    西班牙首相
    泰國首相
    馬來西亞首相

  2. Thanks for the comment – Good point about 總理, a distinction that isn’t made in English. I always wonder about Canada and Australia – since they do have a monarch in Queen Elizabeth II shouldn’t they technically also be classed under 首相?

Just answered my own question and looked this upon Wikipedia:

    需要注意的是,加拿大、澳洲等英聯邦國家存在特殊性。在英語中,這些國家的政府首長,頭銜和英國一樣,稱為「第一大臣」,即「首相」(Prime Minister)。但這些國家雖然法律上和英國地位相同,並共戴一個君主而互不隸屬,但習慣上政府首腦都稱為「總理」(Premier)而非「首相」。

日本 can also add be added to the 首相 list too.
