In case you missed it, the Google Translate app for Android was recently updated to include support for vertical Chinese and Japanese text recognition. The same update also brought offline translation capability for when you’re travelling and can’t be sure of having data connectivity. To enable languages for offline use just choose Offline Languages from the settings then select the languages you want. Language packs are quite large so you might want to wait until you’re on a Wi-Fi network before downloading.
Google Translate can be downloaded from Google Play.
